Happy Lunar New Year! Sending happiness your way in the Year of the Dragon.
Saturday Question #203:
Do You Have a Red Perfume Bottle in Your Collection?
I realize that it’s a superficial connection between the celebration and our perfume hobby, but since most of these SQs aren’t serious anyway, I decided “why not?”
My Answer
My first thought was, “No, I don’t think I have any.” I remembered that for my blog’s “rainbow anniversary” (7 years) I managed to find a red-colored perfume. And I used to have a deep red bottle of the eponymous perfume (probably, it’s the other way around, but you got what I meant), but the current bottle that I have is silver. And that was it. And then I remembered: Puredistance Rubikona! (Just in case you want my take on this perfume, a couple of year ago I published Puredistance Rubikona: Iacta alea esto!)
How about you?

I have more than I thought – Alien Fusion, and a small bottle of Queen Latifah Queen, a tiny mini of Samsara, Lolita Lempicka Sweet (could possibly also count Yves Rocher Rose Oud and Hypnotic Poison which are both more burgundy than red.)
I have kind of decided to let the Alien perfume go – but I’ll miss the red bottle if I do.

Oh, I forgot about Samsara! I also have a small bottle of it.
With most Mugler perfumes, I appreciate them but don’t want to wear them.

So many but the most recent that I bought and wore for the first time today was Ombre Rubis by Jean Charles Brosseau.

I like that the brand makes bottles of a different color for different perfumes. I wish they were wider present where I live.

Well, I have one that is definitely red, but I guess my question is this, Undina. Does it quality as red if the liquid is red, which makes the bottle appear red, or an ombré red bottle, or part of the label is red?
Xeryus Rouge – Givenchy
Original Santal – Creed
Viking – Creed (wearing this one today)
Bloody Wood – Liquides Imaginaires
Héliotroupe – Olivier Durbano

I think that red juice in a transparent bottle doesn’t count (though it looks great).

Well, I guess I only have one then, Xeryus Rouge.

Cacharel Amor Amor
Amouage Opus IX
Guerlain Samsara
Can’t think of any more. Good question Undina.

I think Boucheron Trouble is my only red bottle. I’m impressed by your collection of reds!

I have Samsara as well! So, one more red bottle in my collection. I used to have Amor Amor, but I don’t think I have even an empty bottle left… Hmmm… I might…

Oh yeah, I forgot about Lost Cherry. I have a couple travel sprays, and I love the magenta red color of the case.

I forgot Amouage Lyric! Of course!
I always liked the bottle of My Parfum Cheri and hoped to get it at a discounter site eventually… and then it was gone.

I realized afterwards I actually have more: Samsara, Micallef Rouge No. 1 and No. 2 and Kenzo Flower parfum.

Yes, Gaultier La Belle intense EDP, gorgeous red bottle and a fun fragrance that got me through all my surgeries last summer.

I’ve never seen that bottle before: what a gorgeous color! I’m glad you found a great support from this perfume when it was needed.

For some reason, I first thought of Gres Cabaret, and it’s not an all-red bottle, though pretty. Samsara should have come to my mind first as it’s one of my favorites. I also have Queen Latifa, LL Sweet, Alien Fusion, and Fendi L’Acquarossa. I can’t say which is my favorite of these bottles, though. Scent-wise, Samsara wins.

Cabaret’s box is predominantly red, so it’s not surprising that you thought of it.
I forgot, but I also have Samsara – so, one more red bottle in my collection.

Rubikona here too! And Sheiduna is arguably an orangey red…you will have that too. I am also a past owner of Deep Red ;), and was given an almost empty bottle of Roger & Gallet Gingembre Rouge.

Sheiduna… Probably you’re correct. I need to find my travel spray. For whatever reason, I thought it was white, but now when you mentioned…
Have you ever had Deep Red in a red bottle? (The one that I inherited from you is silver)

Only Samsara for me, and I’m not sure if the Goutal Mon Parfum Cherie bottle counts as red-I could also consider it to be plum, which is purple-y red. Here’s two I would have liked to have owned: The red bottle of Guerlain’s Cologne Imperiale , and the special Chanel #5 from a few years ago.
Great question, and I’m enjoying your feline inspired Instagram posts-thanks for brightening my day, Rusty!

Yay? No hiccough finding you this week! So happy too.
Perfumes in red bottles hmmmm…
Samsara, CdG Floriental, Hypnotic Poison, Gucci Bloom Ambrosia di Fiori, Lyric Woman, Eau Dynamisante, Avon Far Away Royale extrait, Hermes Rhubarbe Ecarlate, Maroussia & does D&G Red Cap count?
I wasn’t sure so checked my Fragrantica profile

Yeah, I forgot Lyric, it’s a beautiful dark red bottle.
I was tempted to get a 15 ml Hermes Rhubarbe: I like those colored bottles and have a couple others. But perfume didn’t work for me.

I only have one. A vintage bottle of my beloved Guerlain Samsara!

Happy Lunar New Year of the Dragon! I have a bottle of Deep Red and it’s unopened in a cellophaned box, so I’m assuming it’s red like my previous bottle was. Also Penhaligon’s The Coveted Duchess Rose and Gucci Rush. Your rainbow perfume arrangement is brilliant!

Got confused… Duchess Rose doesn’t count as it’s the liquid that’s dark red, not the bottle.

Still, a striking bottle!
